Speak Up!
For grades 9-12. The Speak Up! Program consists of three seven-week courses: Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. Each course is independent from the other and includes instruction, experience giving prepared speeches, evaluations, impromptu practice and small group activities.

Speaking Made Easy
For grades 5-8. Designed and conducted by Lynn Griesemer. Children will learn the basics of public speaking and be required to present a book report, speech with visual aid and persuasive speech. They will gain experience in impromptu speaking, receive feedback on their speeches and participate in several exercises in class. The class meets biweekly for 1 hour, 15 minutes. Class size is limited to 10 and cost is $80 ($50 each additional child from the same family), which includes book and supplies.

GENERAL OUTLINE OF Speaking Made Easy
This course consists of 6 sessions and is for both beginners and returning students. Grades 5-8; ages 10-13.
- Class 1 – Course Outline / Expectations / Personal Introductions / Introduction to Public Speaking / Gestures and Body Language / Assignment: Speech #1: Book Reports
- Class 2 – Speech #1: Book Reports / Evaluations of Speeches / Visual Aids and Props / Assignment: Expository Speech with visual aid: History
- Class 3 – Speech #2: Expository Speeches with visual aid: History / Evaluations / Openings and Closings / Assignment: Humorous Presentations / Impromptu Speaking
- Class 4 – Humorous Presentations / Voice, Vocal Variety, Vocabulary / Impromptu Speaking Practice / Assignment: Speech #3: Persuasive Speeches
- Class 5 – Speech #3: Persuasive Speeches / Evaluations / Going Blank, Using Notes / Impromptu Speaking Practice / Self-Evaluations / Review
- Class 6 – Reception for parents: Each student will make a presentation; certificates will be distributed; refreshments.
